Hey there, lovely soul! Are you feeling a little down? Perhaps you're looking for ways to boost your happiness and brighten up your day. Well, I've got some good news for you! I've compiled a list of six easy brain hacks that will do just that.

Let's first talk about serotonin, shall we? This amazing little hormone is like a magical mood balancer that promotes feelings of wellbeing and reward. It's a neurotransmitter that plays a crucial role in regulating our mood, social behaviour, sleep, and appetite. When our serotonin levels are in check, we feel less anxious and depressed, and more happy and content.

So, how do we keep our serotonin levels up? It's easy! Here are a few hacks:

1. Getting outside
Get outside and breathe in some fresh air. Take a walk around the block, and stop to smell the roses. And if you’re looking for a bit more of an adventure, simply jump onto Google and search for ‘best walks near me’ - you may be surprised by what you find.


2. Exercise 
And while you're at it, move that body of yours in any way that feels good to you. Whether it's a brisk walk or a full-on cross fit session, exercise is a great way to boost your mood. If you’re looking for some inspiration YouTube is a great place to look. I personally love Yoga with Adriene and dance HIIT with EMKFit.  


3. Eat the good stuff
Now, let's talk about food. Eating a well-balanced diet can do wonders for your serotonin levels. And there are some foods in particular that can help, like probiotics, fruits including bananas, kiwi, pineapple, passionfruit, pomegranates, and strawberries. Why not whip up a smoothie with all of these delicious ingredients?

Self-care is also crucial when it comes to boosting your happiness. Do things that make you feel good, whatever that may be. It could be as simple as taking a long bath, reading a book, or having a cup of tea. Be kind to yourself and treat yourself right, my friend.
