Cards to spread happiness

Cards to spread happiness

So what does happiness look like? For me, I can never go past the extraordinary acting of Jenna Fisher when Jim finally asks out Pam in the American remake of The Office.

I always know that this scene is coming, but that doesn’t stop that momentary look of pure joy melting my heart every time I see it:

There’s something truly special about those rare moments of pure happiness in life, isn’t there?

This is why it’s so important to do whatever we can to create touching moments in the lives of our family and friends. It not only strengthens our relationships, but it’s also the kind of thing that people reflect upon for life, and can bring a smile to someone’s face even in their toughest moments.

Making someone’s day does not always require grand gestures or special occasions. Sometimes it’s those small and unexpected gestures that can heave the biggest impact. And what better way to show someone you care than by sending them a heartfelt greeting card, just coz? It’s a simple yet meaningful way to spread happiness and brighten someone’s day. Why not take a moment to send a little love to those who matter most to you?

We now have almost 20 cards in the ‘happiness collection’ on our website. Here are six of our faves that you can get mailed directly to a friend’s home without even leaving your couch:

You make the world a happier place

You make the world a happier place
This is a card to acknowledge people who don't even think twice about going the extra mile to do something special for those they care about. It’s ideal for the type of people who never want anything in return for their help, a teacher or instructor who gives you the tough love you need to reach your potential, or just someone who is a beacon of positivity in your life.

You're pure sunshine

You’re pure sunshine
Some people have the ability to just light up a room. They ooze charisma and their energy is just contagious. We want to get on the vibe with these people and let them know how grateful we are for their presence.

I’m so glad you exist
Have you ever just felt so grateful for someone and so in awe of their energy and brilliance? These are the people that make our lives better and we should take every opportunity to let them know. Existing can be tough sometimes but it's always better in good company.

I love you, weirdo

I love you, weirdo
Normal is boring. Celebrate those who are weirder than that time those penguins escaped from the Bronx Zoo, hijacked that ship and took it to Madagascar. This card is ideal for the kind of friend who you have your own language with that no one else would possibly understand.

You're going to make it

You’re going to make it
Sometimes people can have none of the confidence, but all of the ability. This card is perfect for letting someone know that even if times are tough, you still have 100% faith in them. That can mean a lot.

I still think you're smoking hot

I still think you’re smoking hot
After a few tough moments we may not always feel our best - and that's exactly why we need others to remind us that we are still at our best. Send this to someone who you truly believe is still smoking hot - and who could do with the confidence boost to be proud of who they are.

If there’s one thing that I do know, it’s that happiness is contagious. When someone around you is in a great mood, it’s hard not to feel it too. Sharing your positive moments with others will create more happiness in the world which is absolutely why you should give someone an unexpected card in the post.

A final thought on happiness that I like to remind myself of every time I’m feeling down. Downs are natural and are also a great reference point. Without the downs, we wouldn’t know what ups feel like. It’s important to experience the dualities in life so you know when you’re on to a good thing.

However, if you find yourself struggling with your downs more often than not, it’s important to reach out for help. There are amazing mental health services and professionals available who can offer support, such as your GP, ReachOut Australia, Beyond Blue and the Black Dog Institute. Remember, you are not alone and it’s ok to ask for help.
