Random acts of kindness day should be every day!

Random acts of kindness day should be every day!

Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day! We’re happy to celebrate this day but we also firmly believe that every day should be random acts of kindness day because, well, kindness makes the world a better place.

It’s not hard to be kind and if we all reprogrammed our brains to make kindness the default, imagine how much better the world could be?

Here are a few suggestions for random acts of kindness that you could do every day:

Hold the door or the lift for someone
I know we’re all in a hurry these days but if you take an extra two seconds to open the door for someone, it can really put a pep in their step.

Leaving a note on someone’s desk
Leave a little note on someone’s desk wishing them a good day or letting them know how much you appreciate them.

Give someone a genuine compliment
Like someone’s hair today? Let them know. Think someone handled themselves really well in a heated meeting? Tell them.

Make or buy someone a cup of coffee or tea
If you’re making a cuppa or going to go and buy one, get one for a friend, family or work colleague. A nice cuppa is like a warm hug.

Pick up rubbish
It’s awful seeing litter on the street or in natural places like the beach. If it’s safe and sanitary to do so, pick up any litter that you see left behind. When we’re kind to the planet, the planet is kind to us.

Offer to help
If you see someone struggling with something, offer to help them out.

Let someone in when you’re driving
If someone is indicating to try and get into your lane while you’re driving, slow down and let them in. There’s nothing friendlier than an acknowledgement wave when you’ve been a courteous driver.

Send someone an unexpected card in the post
Check out our range of cards you can send to a friend to surprise them and let them know you’re thinking of them. We will even post it for you.

Let’s make random acts of kindness an every day thing. So I challenge you to do three random acts of kindness every single day and see what a difference it makes in your life!
