The Pursuit of Happiness: Insights from Unseasoned Greetings followers

Happy International Day of Happiness! At Unseasoned Greetings, spreading joy and positivity is at the heart of what we do, so in honour of this special day, we wanted to hear from our followers about what happiness means to them and the things that make them feel happy.

Happiness is a complex emotion that can mean different things to different people. For some, happiness might mean feeling fulfilled in their personal relationships, while for others it might mean achieving a sense of purpose in their work or hobbies.

Here is how our followers answered these questions on happiness:

Without looking up a definition, how would you define happiness?

  • A joyful heart
  • Comfortable in your own skin and in what you have
  • Happiness is within
  • Seeing something that makes you feel good
  • A feeling of contentment
  • Pure joy - feeling invincible like nothing could go wrong
  • A feeling of being one with my world and a calm contentment about how my life is going
  • No stress, just fun and enjoyment
  • Knowing you are loved
  • Contentment
  • The ability to constantly see and focus on the good in life, even while the bad stuff still exists

What makes you feel happy?

  • Nature. Seeing my family smile. Adventure. Achievement.
  • My wife and nature.
  • Feeling connected to something
  • Be fulfilled by everything you do. But happiness doesn’t last long. Make the most of it
  • Shooting some photos
  • Having a fulfilling day with people I love
  • Reading, cooking, nurturing others and walking in nature makes me feel happy
  • Achieving goals, either personal goals for myself or watching friends and family achieve theirs
  • Gardens, hearing and seeing water, winning games
  • A decent hug
  • When someone demonstrates that they thought about you
  • Bubbles! [whether they meant champagne or actually just blowing bubbles, we are up for both]
  • Going for a run with some good music on
  • Catching up with good friends
  • When all of my family are in bed on a lazy Sunday morning - snuggling quietly

Regardless of how you define happiness, there's no denying that it feels good. Being happy can lead to improved mental health, better relationships, and a greater sense of overall well-being. When we're happy, we're more likely to approach challenges with a positive outlook and to find joy in the little things in life.

We believe that spreading happiness is one of the most important things we can do as human beings, which is why we're committed to helping you create special moments  with the humans who matter most to you through our cards.

So, let's celebrate International Day of Happiness by reflecting on what happiness means to us and by spreading joy to those around us!

A little reminder though, that it’s much easier to spread joy when you find joy in your own life. Here are six easy brain hacks that do just that
